Asst Design Manager

Job Purpose:

To support the Design & Development team in creating, reviewing, and managing all engineering documents and manufacturing drawings for new product development. The role ensures all process drawings and related documentation are prepared accurately to meet customer specifications and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and release manufacturing drawings for all new product developments in coordination with the design and production teams.
• Create detailed process drawings for each manufacturing stage — cutting, bending, welding, machining, surface treatment, and assembly.
• Develop and maintain design documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), revision records, and change notes.
• Ensure all drawings meet customer standards, GD&T requirements, and internal quality norms.
• Support prototype development, providing design inputs and design validation.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to implement design feedback and continuous improvement actions.
• Maintain a proper drawing and document control system (version control, file naming, and archiving).
• Coordinate with suppliers and customers for technical discussions and design clarifications.
• Ensure all design outputs comply with ISO / IATF documentation standards.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes — sheet metal, fabrication, machining, and assembly.
• Excellent knowledge of technical drawing standards and GD&T.
• Experience in document control, design documentation, and engineering change management.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Good understanding of new product development (NPD) lifecycle.

Qualification & Experience:

• Qualification: Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Experience: 4–8 years in Design & Development, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication industry.
• Exposure to customer-oriented projects (Caterpillar, Komatsu, or equivalent OEMs) is an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹380,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
