Associate Technical Director - Roads & Highways

Role Overview: As the technical lead for the UK Communities Roads team projects, you will be responsible for local health and safety, welfare, risk, information security, and assessment/compliance. Your role will involve project, programme, and financial management, as well as promoting the WSP Vision and Values. You will actively promote the UK GCC culture within the team, ensuring that staff deliver on promises and maintain high-quality standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring team members towards professional accreditation, recruitment, and team growth. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the team and processes to ensure the preparation and checking of documents, reports, and other technical outputs meet internal and client requirements and quality assurance standards - Provide inspirational leadership and direction for the GCC UK Communities team - Conduct staff appraisals, performance development reviews, and recruitment activities - Monitor team capability and identify training needs - Identify opportunities to enhance services and skills within the team - Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance Standards - Contribute to bids, marketing material, and operational processes design - Conduct audits of adherence to WSP Management and Quality processes Qualifications Required: - Proven working knowledge of Design Standards practiced across the UK - Senior technical experience in Highways discipline - Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence and interact with people - Strong leadership skills and ability to lead internal engineering discussions - Experience in resource and project management - Awareness of current and emerging technologies relevant to the highways sector - Effective time management and organisational skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
