Job Description

In this position, you will have an opportunity to make major contributions to our next generation transportation and logistics software for the marine industry.
You will work together with colleagues to define system requirements and build state-of-the-art software and will collaborate with the existing QA Team to assist the larger community of Developers, Quality Engineers, and Product Managers in delivering high quality, innovative applications.
You must be a quick learner, have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain ownership of large engineering projects through their lifecycle: architecture/design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and support. This position has unique opportunities for growth in both the functional and technical direction.

Responsibilities

Join an Agile team coordinating with a Product manager, lead developer, and QA lead

Create new product features for our global customers using test driven development

Work on every level of the stack-frontend to backend, and everything in between

Take end-to-end ownership of your part of the functionality

Keep up to date on new technologies and share your knowledge

Participate in the full development life cycle from definition and design to product delivery

Requirements

BE or B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology

Proven object-oriented programming skills with Java and/or C++ preferably

Experience with one or more databases (Oracle, SQLServer , MySQL , Postgres )

Strong knowledge of design patterns / data Structures

Strong analytical abilities with debugging and troubleshooting skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience in programming enterprise or web applications

Knowledge of broader Java and JEE stack ( eg JDBC, JMX, JPA, JMS)

Exposure to messaging and streaming frameworks like Kafka is a huge plus

Familiarity with concepts of security and secured coding is a huge plus

Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax and various Web UI frameworks

App Server experience ( eg Tomcat, JBoss)

Experience with using REST APIs

Open-source frameworks familiarity such as Spring , and Hibernate

Ability to explore / contribute to Open-Source projects

Working knowledge of AI-based tool sets for coding is a big plus
