We are a fintech start-up based out of Bangalore. We are three founders onto our 2nd innings. All three of us are ex-bankers. Nitin and Viraj are successful entrepreneurs, and Amit is a seasoned banker. We are already profitable, in a path to aggressive growth with good foundations.


We are looking for a Payroll Expert with 3+ years of hands-on experience of handling India payroll to join our team.


Responsibilities:

● Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across the org

● Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages, salaries, and benefits to employees according to local regulations and company policies

● Coordinate with HR, finance, and other departments to gather payroll data, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes

● Review and verify payroll inputs, including timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and deductions, to ensure accuracy and compliance with local tax laws and regulations

● Prepare and submit payroll reports, tax filings, and other statutory requirements to relevant authorities in each country

● Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and compliance requirements and update payroll processes accordingly

● Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies or issues raised by employees or stakeholders in a timely and professional manner

● Collaborate with external payroll service providers, tax advisors, and legal counsel to ensure compliance and address complex payroll matters

● Maintain payroll records, documentation, and confidentiality of employee information in compliance with data protection laws and company policies

● Preparation of Payroll, Audit and compliance data for all due diligence activities, and maintain records

● Responsible for all payroll and employment-related compliances


Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.

● 3 years of experience in India payroll processing, experience of a start-up is an advantage

● Deep understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in multiple states within India

● Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g. Keka) and MS Excel.

● Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately.

● Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
