Job Description

Role Overview:

The Associate Editor at My Startup TV plays a key role in conceptualizing, creating, and managing high-quality editorial content across My Startup Media’s platforms — including WebTV, digital magazine, podcasts, and OTT. The position requires a sharp news sense, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to manage stories, scripts, and multimedia content aligned with My Startup TV’s mission to spotlight startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem enablers.

Key Responsibilities:

Editorial Planning & Management

  • Assist the Chief Editor in planning daily, weekly, and monthly editorial calendars.
  • Coordinate content development across platforms — WebTV, podcasts, print, and digital.
  • Identify emerging trends, startup stories, and ecosystem developments for coverage.
  • Ensure all content aligns with My Startup Media’s editorial policy and brand voice.

Content Creation & Editing

  • Write, edit, and proofread news stories, features, and interview scripts.
  • Edit contributor and freelancer submissions to meet editorial standards.
  • Review scripts and storyboards for video features and bulletins.
  • Develop engaging headlines, summaries, and social media copy for content promotion.


Team Coordination

  • Work closely with video editors, reporters, anchors, and content producers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Mentor interns and freelance writers to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Liaise with the production and digital marketing teams for smooth publishing and distribution.

Content Review & Quality Control

  • Maintain editorial consistency and factual accuracy across all outputs.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical journalism and copyright norms.
  • Oversee proofreading, language polishing, and final approval before publication.

Research & Story Development

  • Research background information, data, and context for stories and interviews.
  • Suggest new story ideas, formats, and special editorial series around startup themes.
  • Monitor startup events, press releases, and announcements for coverage opportunities.

Platform-Specific Responsibilities

  • For 

    WebTV:

     Oversee video scripts, subtitles, and segment transitions.
  • For 

    Print/Digital:

     Supervise layout drafts and coordinate with designers.
  • For 

    Podcast/OTT:

     Assist in curating episode scripts and editorial flow.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in editorial roles (digital, print, or broadcast).
  • Strong command over English; familiarity with startup and business terminology.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with newsroom workflows, CMS tools, and multimedia publishing.

  • Timely delivery of editorial calendar.
  • Quality and engagement level of published content.
  • Consistency in upholding editorial standards.
  • Collaboration effectiveness with content and production teams.
