Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing end-to-end export import logistics operations, ensuring customer delivery expectations are met in full, in a cost-effective and compliant manner. The role includes negotiating freight with service providers and shipping lines, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring full regulatory compliance and documentation for international trade.

Role and Responsibilities:

Export Operations Management

1. Responsible for order to delivery logistics (end to end) in international trade Import-Export Shipments within stipulated time /targets

2. Supervise and track the progress of export shipments, ensuring that any issues are addressed quickly to avoid delays.

Logistics Coordination and Supply Chain Optimization:

3. Collaborate with internal teams (Planning, Sales, Production) to align export logistics with business goals and customer requirements.

4. Develop and implement strategies to optimize the export supply chain, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.

Compliance and Documentation Management:

5. Ensuring all Statutory and Documentation compliance before the shipment arrival/ dispatch. (HSN, Valuation, Exemption notifications, FTA Benefits). Ensure that all export shipments comply with international laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., export control regulations, customs tariffs, product safety).

6. Supervise the preparation of export documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, packing lists, and other necessary certificates.

7. Maximizing Incentives for Imports and Exports. (Advance License, EPCG, Chapter 3 benefits, Excise Rebates, SAD Refunds etc)

8. Manage customs clearance and provide support for any regulatory inquiries or inspections.

Vendor and Stakeholder Relationship Management:

9. Manage relationships with external logistics providers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.

10. Vendor Performance Management: Ensure that service levels and delivery standards agreed upon with vendors are consistently met.

Trouble Shooting and Problem Resolution:

11. Identify and address potential risks or disruptions in the supply chain and export processes (e.g., transport delays, damage, regulatory issues).

Reporting, Analytics and Continuous Improvement:

12. Develop and maintain regular reports on export logistics performance, covering key metrics such as shipping timelines, cost analysis, and vendor performance.

13. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding improvements, risks, and operational efficiencies.

14. Initiate Process Improvements within Imports-Exports by revisiting/redrafting the standard operating procedures

15. Act as Super / Key user for EXIM processes

Required Knowledge (of any equipment / Tools and techniques / Software)

Hands on working experience in SAP (HANA) for SD and EXIM module, Power BI, should be extremely savvy digitally.

Education & Experience Education Essential:

Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field and MBA in EXIM from reputed institute.

Preferred

Experience :

Extensive experience in managing international shipments, including dealing with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies.

Proven track record of improving supply chain and logistics efficiency, driving cost savings, and optimizing export processes

Competencies / Skills:

1. Willingness to learn and adapt

2. Ability to read and interpret policy, laws and rules and apply them in day-to-day operations.

3. Expert level understanding of customs, exports, imports procedures including working of DGFT, trade bodies and other allied regulations.

4. Working understanding of documentation and supply chain processes from order to delivery especially in international logistics.

5. Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.

6. Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with analytical tools such as Power BI.

7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
