Assistant Vice President Debt Syndication

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Origination

• Identify, originate, and pitch debt syndication opportunities with corporate and institutional clients.
  
• Build and maintain strong relationships with promoters, CFOs, banks, NBFCs, and investors.
  
• Develop sector insights to create a robust pipeline of mandates.
  

Deal Structuring & Execution

• Structure appropriate debt solutions (term loans, working capital, structured debt, NCDs, ECBs, project finance, etc.) tailored to client needs.
  
• Prepare detailed financial models, credit appraisal notes, information memoranda, and transaction documents.
  
• Manage end-to-end execution of mandates including due diligence, negotiations, and documentation.
  

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with banks, NBFCs, mutual funds, and other lending institutions for syndication.
  
• Ensure smooth communication between internal teams, clients, and lenders.
  
• Monitor deal progress, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure timely closure.
  

Financial & Strategic

• Achieve business targets for debt syndication volumes and fee income.
  
• Provide market intelligence on interest rates, lender appetite, and product innovations.
  
• Support leadership in strategizing new business initiatives and cross-selling opportunities.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of debt markets, corporate banking, and capital raising instruments.
  
• Proven experience in originating and executing large-ticket debt transactions.
  
• Excellent financial modelling, credit appraisal, and analytical skills.
  
• Strong negotiation and relationship management capabilities.
  
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver within tight timelines.
  
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• MBA (Finance) / CA / CFA or equivalent.
  
• 812 years of relevant experience in debt syndication, corporate finance, or investment banking.
  
• Established network with corporates, banks, and financial institutions.
