Assistant Professor - Interaction Design

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the position of Assistant Professor in Interaction Design. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and professional experience in interaction design, UX/UI, human-centered design, and emerging technologies. They should be passionate about teaching, mentoring, and contributing to the growth of the design program and its students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Interaction Design, UX/UI, Design Thinking, and related areas.
• Develop course content, projects, and assignments that reflect current industry practices and future trends.
• Guide student projects, capstone work, and internships.
• Encourage critical thinking, innovation, and experimentation in design.
• Engage in research, creative practice, or industry consultancy relevant to interaction design.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster collaborations with industry and academia for joint projects and knowledge exchange.
• Contribute to departmental administrative work and institute-level committees as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Centered Design, UX/UI Design, New Media Design, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• A minimum of 2–5 years of teaching and/or professional experience in interaction design or digital product design.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in interaction design, interface design, prototyping, and usability testing.
• Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, etc.
• Good understanding of design research, user behavior, and user-centered methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's / PhD (Completed or pursuing) in a relevant field.
• Experience in curriculum design and academic leadership roles.
• Interdisciplinary project exposure with technology, psychology, or business.
• Industry connections and an active design practice or research profile.
