Role Overview

spice processing, blending, instant mix formulations, quality standards, production planning, and team management

Key Responsibilities

1.

Production Operations

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production for

    masalas (chili, turmeric, coriander, blends)

    and

    instant mixes (gulab jamun, soups, etc.)

    .
  • Ensure compliance with

    FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, and other quality standards

    .
  • Monitor production output, wastage, and efficiency to achieve

    daily/weekly/monthly targets

    .
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for smooth functioning of machinery (grinders, blenders, packaging machines, etc.).

2.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all raw materials and finished products meet

    quality specifications

    .
  • Work closely with the QA/QC team for

    sampling, inspection, and product release

    .
  • Enforce

    food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards

    on the shop floor.
  • Maintain complete

    batch records, traceability, and documentation

    for audits.

3.

People Management

  • Supervise a team of machine operators, helpers, and line leaders.
  • Train team members on

    SOPs, safety protocols, and best practices

    .
  • Ensure discipline, attendance, and productivity among staff.
  • Drive a culture of

    continuous improvement

    and team accountability.

4.

Process & Cost Optimization

  • Monitor

    raw material consumption vs. BOM standards

    and minimize variances.
  • Work with procurement and stores on

    material availability and stock management

    .
  • Suggest improvements for

    yield enhancement, wastage reduction, and process automation

    .
  • Assist in

    new product trials and scale-up

    in collaboration with R&D.

5.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Report daily production data, variances, and issues to the Production Manager.
  • Coordinate with

    Planning, Procurement, Stores, QA, and Maintenance

    teams.
  • Provide inputs for

    monthly MIS, costing reports, and production KPIs

    .
  • Support in external/internal

    audits and customer inspections

    .

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in

    Food Technology / Food Science / Engineering

    (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in

    food processing

    , preferably in

    masalas/spices/instant mixes/FMCG

    .
  • Knowledge of

    spice grinding, instant mix processing, blending, packaging lines

    .
  • Familiarity with

    ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, etc.)

    .

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    production planning and control

    .
  • Good understanding of

    quality, hygiene, and safety systems

    .
  • Analytical mindset for

    cost optimization and problem-solving

    .
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination abilities.
