Job Description

  • Assist in developing and implementing the procurement plan for all ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Review material requirement indents (MRNs) from site teams and ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain minimum stock levels for key construction materials to avoid project delays.

2. Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and empanel new suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate terms, prices, delivery schedules, and payment conditions with vendors.
  • Maintain and update the approved vendor database with performance tracking.
  • Conduct vendor audits for quality, reliability, and compliance.

3. Purchase Order Management

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders as per approved requisitions and negotiated rates.
  • Ensure proper documentation, including comparative statements, quotations, and approvals.
  • Track order fulfilment and coordinate logistics for timely delivery to sites.

4. Cost Control & Budget Compliance

  • Ensure procurement within approved project budgets.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in rate analysis and cost benchmarking.
  • Maintain transparency in the tendering and negotiation process.

5. Coordination & Documentation

  • Coordinate with

    Project, Stores, Accounts, and Quality

    teams for GRN verification, billing, and payment clearance.
  • Ensure documentation of all purchase records and agreements.
  • Prepare monthly procurement MIS and supplier performance reports.

6. Statutory & Compliance

  • Ensure all materials and vendors comply with statutory norms (GST, ESI, PF, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical procurement practices, and audit compliance.

Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of

    construction materials

    (cement, steel, aggregates, plumbing, electrical, interiors, etc.).
  • Excellent vendor management and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with

    ERP systems / Tally

    and procurement modules.
  • Proficiency in

    MS Excel and documentation

    .
  • Ability to multitask across multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Education:

    Degree or Diploma with MBA (Supply Chain / Materials Management)
  • Experience:

    810 years in procurement or purchase functions within the

    construction / real estate / infrastructure /Projects

    industry.
  • Software Skills:

    MS Office, Tally, ERP systems, SAP preferred.
