Job Description Assistant Manager Operations

Department: Operations

Reporting To: Operations Manager / Senior Manager – Operations

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Operations will support day-to-day operational activities to ensure smooth, efficient, and

compliant business processes. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, monitoring

performance metrics, managing automation processes, and supporting management in achieving operational

excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

- Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily operational activities

- Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and compliance requirements

- Monitor operational KPIs and prepare regular performance reports

- Identify process gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives

Automation & Process Optimization

- Handle, observe, and monitor automation and RPA processes used in operations

- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and continuity of automated workflows

- Coordinate with technical and automation teams for deployment, enhancements, and issue resolution

- Identify opportunities for automation to reduce manual effort and improve productivity

Monitoring, Observation & Problem Solving

- Closely observe daily operational and automated processes to identify risks or deviations

- Monitor dashboards, system alerts, and operational metrics

- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions

- Act as the first level of escalation for operational and automation-related issues

Team Coordination & Support

- Coordinate with team leads and staff to ensure workflow efficiency

- Support manpower planning, shift scheduling, and workload distribution

- Support onboarding and training of new team members

Process Improvement & Quality

- Support implementation of process improvements

- Conduct audits and quality checks

- Maintain and update SOPs and process documentation

Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

- Liaise with HR, IT, Finance, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders

- Prepare MIS, dashboards, and reports for management review

- Maintain accurate operational records

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, or related field

- MBA/PGDM (Operations) preferred

- 3–6 years of experience in operations or process management

Skills & Competencies

- Strong analytical, monitoring, and problem-solving skills

- Exposure to automation/RPA tools preferred

- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools

- Effective communication and coordination skills
