Job Purpose:

The Repair and Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all maintenance and repair activities to ensure maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and workplace safety. This role involves leading a technical team, managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring that all maintenance activities align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure timely execution of maintenance activities for machinery, vehicles, and infrastructure.
  • Minimize breakdowns and ensure quick response for corrective actions.
  • Oversee the installation, repair, and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.

2. Team Management

  • Supervise and guide the maintenance and technical teams.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
  • Conduct technical training sessions for the team to enhance skill levels.

3. Vendor & Resource Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage local vendors and contractors for maintenance services.
  • Negotiate service contracts, manage AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts), and ensure quality standards.
  • Ensure timely availability of spare parts, tools, and consumables.

4. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets.
  • Optimize resource utilization and control repair and maintenance costs.
  • Maintain cost reports and identify areas for cost-saving and process improvement.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure a safe working environment.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, asset history, and downtime analysis.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on maintenance performance and key metrics.
  • Track equipment life cycles and recommend replacement or upgrades when required.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze root causes of equipment failures and implement long-term solutions.
  • Introduce new maintenance techniques and technologies for efficiency enhancement.
  • Lead improvement projects focused on operational reliability and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 1015 years of experience in repair and maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in automobile, fleet, logistics, or manufacturing industries preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Strong technical and analytical ability.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Vendor and budget management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance software (e.g., SAP, CMMS).
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be flexible to handle emergency breakdowns and site visits.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • Immediate joiners preferred.
