Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Partner Management:

  • Identify and onboard new Channel Partners and Delivery Partners.
  • Maintain relationships with key customers and prospects.
  • Source competitive air and ocean freight rates from vendors.
  • Provide pricing support and respond to customer queries.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market rates.

Operations and Documentation:

  • Manage complete handling of international air and ocean shipments.
  • Prepare shipping documents such as Airway Bills, Bills of Lading, and invoices.
  • Coordinate pickup, delivery, carriers, agents, and customs brokers.
  • Support customs clearance and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Track shipments and update stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues such as delays, claims, and return to origin cases.

Financial and Margin Control:

  • Monitor shipment costs, revenue, and margins.
  • Escalate low-margin shipments below 10 percent for approval.
  • Support invoicing and vendor bill processing.
  • Coordinate with the billing team for timely account closure.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare MIS reports on volume, revenue, margin, and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with GST and trade regulations.
  • Support internal SOPs, audits, and certifications like IATA, ISO, and AEO.
  • Maintain all operational and financial records.

Collaboration and Process Improvement:

  • Work with internal teams to improve freight processes.
  • Use ERP or freight management systems for tracking and accuracy.
  • Assist the Manager in mentoring team members.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and customer satisfaction.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of international air and ocean freight, customs, and documentation.
  • Ability to acquire and manage partners and vendors.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with focus on profitability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and freight systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Business.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, IATA or IMO rules, trade compliance, and GST.
  • Experience with WCA network is an advantage.
