Job Title: Sr.Manager- Dyeing

Location: Kolkata/Ankurhati

Reporting To: Head of Sourcing

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager - Dyeing with 7+ years of relevant experience to oversee and manage all activities within the dyeing department, primarily focusing on silk fabrics. The candidate will ensure high-quality output, timely delivery, and operational efficiency by managing dye schedules, chemical inventories, machine allocations, and lab dip approvals. The role also involves resolving quality issues, training blue- collar personnel, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all activities within the dyeing department to ensure quality, punctuality, and efficiency.
• Develop and implement dyeing schedules, monitor dyeing processes, and optimize parameters for consistent color and quality, especially on silk fabrics.
• Oversee chemical inventory management, ensuring proper storage and usage of chemicals and dyes.
• Approve lab dips, select appropriate dye lots, and ensure color matching as per design specifications.
• Allocate and supervise machine operations, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure proper maintenance.
• Resolve any quality-related issues by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain strict adherence to standard operating procedures, safety norms, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance.
• Training and development of blue-collar staff, promoting best practices through ongoing education and skill enhancement.
• Lead implementation of 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and workplace organization.
• Maintain proper documentation related to dyeing processes, quality checks, and inventory.
• Stay updated on the latest wet processing techniques, dyeing technologies, and sustainable practices.

Qualifications:

• B.Tech or Diploma in Dyeing, Wet Processing, Textile Chemistry, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in dyeing silk fabrics, preferably within a luxury or high-end textile industry.
• Strong knowledge of dyeing techniques, chemicals, safety protocols, and process optimization.
• Leadership skills with experience in training blue-collar workers.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
