Cnc Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

1. Position Summary:

The CNC Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily CNC machining operations, ensuring production targets are achieved with high quality and safety standards. This role involves managing CNC operators, monitoring machine utilization, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring strict adherence to process and quality requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities:

Production & Planning:

• Plan and allocate daily workload across CNC machines (VMC, HMC, Swiss/Sliding Head, Brother VMC, SP3, etc.).
• Ensure production schedules are met and coordinate with Production Planning & Control (PPC).
• Monitor cycle times, tool life, productivity, and machine utilization.
• Process improvements, setting changeover (SMED), part prove out as per the drawing, Basic 2D programming knowledge.
• Problem solving and trouble shoot on all the CNC machines.
• Responsible for Productivity, quality, safety and 5S of the shop floor.

Process Management:

• Ensure first-piece inspection, in-process checks, and final quality checks are followed.
• Review CNC programs, machining parameters, offsets, and cutting tool selection.
• Implement process improvements to reduce rejections, rework, and cycle time.

Team Management:

• Supervise CNC operators and technicians.
• Train team members on machine operation, Fixture & tool handling, and safety protocols.
• Ensure discipline, shift handover, and manpower planning.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with CNC -VMCs, HMC, SPM (3 & 4th axis) and related tooling.
• Good understanding of CNC programming, G and M codes usage (Fanuc, Brother, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, machining processes, cutting tools, and measuring instruments.
• Exposure to process documentation, and problem-solving methodologies.
