Job Title: Assistant Chef Instructor

Department: Academics

Location: Bengaluru, India

Reports To: Chef Instructor / Academy Head Position

Objective: The Assistant Chef Instructor supports the Chef Instructor in delivering high-quality pastry and culinary education through classroom instruction, hands-on training, and operational excellence. This role demands strong technical ability, classroom discipline, and initiative in supporting the academic team to maintain the premium training standards of Whitecaps International School of Pastry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Delivery & Training Support

 Confidently conduct basic pastry and bakery modules as per the academic schedule.

 Assist senior chefs in delivering advanced modules and practical demonstrations.

 Identify training needs of students and interns, and provide individual guidance during classes.

 Prepare ingredients, tools, and kitchen setups prior to class sessions.

 Demonstrate correct methods and ensure students follow professional techniques and hygiene standards.

 Take responsibility for classroom opening, readiness, and proper closing after sessions.

 Maintain accurate attendance for respective batches.

2. Student Mentoring & Development

 Supervise students and interns during practical sessions to ensure quality output and discipline.

 Provide timely, constructive feedback and encourage continuous improvement.

 Motivate and guide subordinates, trainees, and students to perform to the best of their abilities.

 Select and train interns for academic support roles and practical assistance.

3. Operational & Administrative Coordination

 Follow the weekly indent process accurately and on time.

 Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for ingredient and equipment requisitions.

 Take initiative in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness and order of classrooms and kitchens.

 Ensure all equipment is handled safely and maintained in proper working condition.

 Maintain inventory, attendance, and production records as required.

4. Events, Workshops & External Representation

 Participate in exhibitions, competitions, and live demonstrations representing the institution.

 Assist in organizing weekend workshops, demo classes, and student showcases.

 Support in planning and execution of expat or online masterclasses.

 Stay updated on all school activities, functions, and promotional events.

 Provide accurate information to patrons, visitors, and students, actively promoting Whitecaps’ facilities and services.

5. Production & Quality Control

 Complete production-related tasks and institutional requests without compromising on quality or consistency.

 Support the production kitchen for in-house requirements, R&D trials, or class preparations.

 Uphold food safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.

6. Professional Growth & Organizational Contribution

 Continuously enhance personal technical and teaching skills to add value to classes.

 Contribute to organizational goals through efficient, value-driven decisions.

 Demonstrate teamwork, discipline, and accountability in all academic and operational functions.

Qualifications & Experience:

 Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts / Patisserie / Bakery from a recognized institution.

 1–3 years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen, hotel, or culinary training institute.

 Strong foundation in pastry, bakery, and chocolate/confectionery work.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 Ability to handle both academic and operational responsibilities efficiently.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
