Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility as Assistant Category Manager is to execute procurement projects and category activities which you will do in collaboration with Technology stakeholders and thus ensure effective implementation of the category strategy that aligns with Technology overall direction and objective.

Your role will also be to manage procurement of software focusing on commercial and contractual negotiations, risk management and conduct contract and supplier relationship management.

Other key tasks:

  • Conduct spend analysis to identify cost drivers and opportunities to make the Software category more cost effective for Maersk
  • Conduct in-depth market and supplier research and analysis, including identification and engagement of new suppliers in support of technology requirements
  • Partner with Technology and Business stakeholders to understand needs/requirements, build trusting partnerships that allow for evaluation, influencing and challenging the status quo and driving compliance and adoption of the procurement policies
  • Contract and supplier relationship management including conducting business reviews
  • Collaborate with suppliers on innovation, cost and process improvements to find a way to make Maersk business more commercially attractive

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a software category/IT procurement manager role
  • Good understanding of all software types and experience negotiating relevant contractual terms
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and/or full procurement process
  • Strong written, oral, and formal communication skills in English
  • Able and strive to work in a dynamic environment where priorities may change from time to time
  • Structured and used to working with deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management skills dealing with all levels of seniority
  • Good communicator and ability turn complex information into understandable language
