Assistant Accountant - India Office

Job Summary:

We are hiring an Assistant Accountant based in India to support our Canada-based accounting and operations team, as well as assist with Indian accounting compliance. The ideal candidate should have experience in customer invoicing, GST/HST (Canada & India), payroll assistance, and working knowledge of Zoho Books/Zoho CRM. The candidate will also assist our Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary with statutory filings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and send customer invoices as per Canadian tax guidelines.
• Follow up with clients for outstanding payments.
• Assist with Canada payroll processing, deductions, and records.
• File and reconcile GST/HST returns for Canada (monthly/quarterly).
• File GST returns with the Indian tax department for our India entity.
• Maintain accounting records in Zoho Books.
• Reconcile bank statements, create journal entries, and perform daily bookkeeping.
• Assist our Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary with annual compliance and year-end financials.
• Support in CRA compliance, year-end closing, and audit preparation.
• Track accounting tasks and documentation using Zoho CRM and internal tools.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounting.
• 2+ years of accounting experience (exposure to Canadian accounting is a plus).
• Knowledge of GST/HST (India and Canada), basic CRA payroll practices.
• Proficiency in Zoho Books, Zoho CRM, and MS Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work during Canada business hours (Evening/Night IST).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting transport/trucking or logistics companies in Canada.
• Understanding of T4 slips, ROE, and Canadian payroll cycle.
• Familiarity with Indian TDS, ROC filings, and coordination with CA/CS.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

· Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹40,000 per month (based on experience)

· Shift Timing: Evening/Night (Aligned with Canada Time Zone)
