Job Description

As an Area Sales Officer, you will play a crucial role in driving company growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and achieving sales targets within the agricultural sector. Your responsibilities will include: - Identifying and targeting new business opportunities within the agricultural sector, including farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses. - Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets. - Conducting market research to understand customer needs and market trends. - Preparing and delivering compelling sales presentations to prospective clients. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships, providing after-sales support, and gathering customer feedback to improve products and services. Staying updated on the latest agricultural products, technologies, and industry trends, educating customers on product benefits and usage, and organizing product demonstrations and training sessions will be key to your success in this role. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions, prepare regular sales reports and forecasts, and monitor competitor activities and market conditions to adjust sales strategies accordingly. Collaboration and coordination with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely product delivery, and participation in industry events, trade shows, and conferences will also be part of your responsibilities. Qualifications and Experience: - Educational Background: Any Degree - Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in sales - Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to understand and address customer needs effectively, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory. Preferred Attributes: - Experience in selling agri-inputs like fertilizers, pesticides, or cattle feed. - Familiarity with local agricultural practices and market dynamics. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Fluency in the local language(s) to effectively communicate with farmers and stakeholders.
