Job Title: Head of the Department (HOD) – Interior Design Location: Lakhotia College of Design, Hyderabad Department: Interior Design Employment Type: Full-time Experience Required: Minimum 8–10 years (Academic + Industry) Job Summary: Lakhotia College of Design is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and experienced individual to lead the Interior Design Department as HOD. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic and professional background in interior design, leadership capabilities, and a passion for design education and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the academic and administrative activities of the Interior Design department. Design and update curriculum in alignment with industry standards and educational advancements. Supervise, mentor, and support faculty members in delivering quality education. Conduct regular faculty development programs and workshops. Ensure effective implementation of teaching methodologies, student evaluations, and assessments. Foster strong student engagement and mentor learners in design thinking, creativity, and project work. Coordinate industry interactions, guest lectures, site visits, internships, and placement opportunities. Collaborate with the management in institutional development, accreditations, and strategic planning. Promote research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration within and beyond the department. Ensure the department maintains high academic standards and discipline. Qualifications & Requirements: Master’s Degree or higher in Interior Design/Architecture or related field (Ph.D. preferred). Minimum 8 years of teaching/industry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership/administrative role. Strong knowledge of design software and technical skills (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, etc.). Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and guide students and faculty alike. Proven record of academic and/or industry contributions. Preferred Skills: Exposure to global design trends and sustainable design practices. Experience in design project management and execution. Published work in journals or participation in design competitions/conferences. Familiarity with NEP guidelines and modern pedagogical techniques. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
