You will be responsible for teaching Pattern Making and Garment Construction to fashion design students at Lakhotia College of Design. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on expertise in the fashion industry and a passion for teaching. Your key responsibilities will include teaching and demonstrating pattern drafting, garment construction, and finishing techniques, conducting practical sessions, supervising student projects, helping students understand garment production and fittings, guiding students on industrial and creative applications of pattern making, collaborating with the fashion faculty team to plan and develop the curriculum, and evaluating student performance while providing constructive feedback. To excel in this role, you must have a strong knowledge of manual and industrial pattern making techniques, expertise in sewing, draping, construction methods, and fabric handling, the ability to explain complex processes clearly to beginners, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. The qualifications required for this position include a Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or Textile Technology, with specialization in Pattern Making/Garment Construction. Teaching or industry experience is preferred, although freshers with strong practical knowledge may also apply. Job Title: Tailor Master / Master Cutter Job Type: Full-time / Part-time Department: Fashion Production / Pattern & Garment Construction Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Tailor Master with expertise in cutting, stitching, and fitting garments across a variety of styles. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of fashion trends, garment construction techniques, and fabric behavior, with the ability to lead and train junior tailors or students if required. Key Responsibilities: Interpret sketches, patterns, and technical specs to cut and stitch garments accurately. Take accurate body measurements and ensure perfect fit for customized outfits. Cut patterns manually and ensure efficient fabric utilization. Handle sample development for new designs with precision and finish. Stitch and finish garments using industrial sewing machines. Supervise and train junior tailors or students (if working in an institute). Work with fashion designers, faculty, or students to bring design concepts to life. Ensure high-quality stitching, neat finishes, and on-time delivery. Requirements: Minimum 5–10 years of experience in tailoring or fashion production. Expertise in ladies’ and gents’ garments – ethnic, western, and fusion wear. Ability to read and work from design sketches and technical specifications. Proficiency in operating all types of sewing machines (flat lock, overlock, etc.). Strong understanding of garment fitting, adjustments, and fabric types. Punctual, reliable, and quality-conscious. Preferred Qualifications (Optional): Experience working in a fashion design institute or export house. Knowledge of pattern drafting and draping. Ability to guide students on construction techniques (for academic roles). Exposure to bridal wear or couture is a plus. Salary: Based on experience and skill set.
