Job Description

The Senior ArcFM Editor is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining geospatial data in an enterprise GIS environment using ArcFM and Esri tools. This role supports utility network mapping and ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of spatial data.


Responsibilities


  • Edit and maintain electric utility data in ArcFM and ArcGIS systems.


  • Perform QA/QC on spatial and attribute data to ensure accuracy and consistency.


  • Interpret construction drawings, as-built maps, and engineering sketches to update GIS databases.


  • Assist in data migration, conversion, and integration projects.


  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and field staff to resolve data discrepancies.


  • Support automation scripts and tools development (e.g., Python, ModelBuilder).


  • Train and mentor junior GIS editors and support staff.


  • Ensure compliance with utility standards and GIS best practices.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field.


  • 4+ years of experience in GIS editing with strong ArcFM and Esri ArcGIS skills.


  • Familiarity with utility network models (electric).


  • Strong understanding of GIS database concepts, topology rules, and versioned editing.


  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and ArcFM tools (Designer, Viewer, Redliner, etc.).


  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages is a plus.
