Job Title: Arc Welder / Welder / Certified Welder / Fabricator-Welder / Structural Welder Department: Production / Fabrication / Maintenance / Manufacturing / Operations Reports To: Production Supervisor / Fabrication Manager / Workshop Manager / Lead Welder Location: Nashik, Maharashtra, India (This role is primarily workshop/factory-based at our facility in Nashik, with potential for occasional site work depending on project requirements). Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and certified Arc Welder to join our production/fabrication team in Nashik. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various types of arc welding processes on different metal components according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding industrial environment. Key Responsibilities: Welding Operations: Perform various arc welding processes, primarily using techniques such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/MMAW) , and potentially Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) , Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) , or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) as per project requirements. Weld components in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) and on different types of metals, including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. Adhere strictly to welding procedures (WPS - Welding Procedure Specification) and ensure the correct selection of welding parameters (amperage, voltage, wire speed, gas flow). Fabrication & Material Preparation: Cut, shape, and join metal components using appropriate tools and machinery (e.g., grinders, cutting torches, saws). Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, beveling, or fitting components to ensure strong and clean welds. Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine specifications and layout. Quality Assurance: Inspect finished welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, and spatter. Ensure all welds meet specified quality standards, structural integrity, and industry codes (e.g., IS codes, ASME, AWS standards). Conduct basic quality checks (e.g., visual inspection, dimensional checks). Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain various welding machines, power tools (grinders, cutting tools), and safety equipment. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment to ensure proper functioning. Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, company safety policies, and best practices in a welding environment. Properly use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and flame-retardant clothing. Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards. Follow all environmental guidelines regarding waste disposal and ventilation.
