Application System Engineer

Role Overview: Varex Imaging, headquartered in Salt Lake City, USA, is a leading innovator, developer, and manufacturer of X-ray imaging component solutions, including X-ray tubes, digital flat panel detectors, software, and other key components of X-ray imaging systems. As part of the team, your role will involve providing technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products. You will work closely with the sales staff to assess potential applications of company products to meet customer needs and prepare detailed product specifications. Collaborating with R&D teams, you will build prototypes based on customer requirements to demonstrate application feasibility, often requiring rapid prototyping and product demos. Additionally, you will ensure that the product application/solution functions according to specifications and provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customers by disseminating technical information on specific applications. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products. - Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products and preparing detailed product specifications. - Collaborate with R&D teams to build prototypes based on customer requirements to demonstrate application feasibility. - Ensure that the product application/solution functions according to specifications. - Act as the primary contact to provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in a technical area of study such as engineering or physics (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of experience in the design, production, or service of X-ray tube assemblies or X-ray imaging equipment. - Proficiency in utilizing business tools such as E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. - Travel required between 10% and 35% of the time.
