A clinical role in the private healthcare & surgical services sector focused on tertiary and day-care operative care, with an emphasis on minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery and high-quality perioperative management. This on-site position serves a busy surgical practice in Veraval, Gujarat, supporting elective and emergency general laparoscopic procedures with comprehensive anesthesia services.

Consultant Anesthesiologist

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based anesthesia care for adult and paediatric patients undergoing general and laparoscopic surgery—pre-op assessment through post-op handover.
• Administer and manage general and regional anesthesia techniques (spinal, epidural, peripheral nerve blocks) tailored to laparoscopic procedures.
• Perform advanced airway management and ventilator support for patients under general anesthesia and in emergency situations.
• Monitor intraoperative hemodynamics, titrate vasoactive medications, and respond to perioperative complications promptly.
• Lead postoperative analgesia plans including multimodal pain management and regional techniques to optimise recovery and reduce LOS.
• Maintain accurate anesthesia records, adhere to infection control and safety protocols, and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and quality-improvement initiatives.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• General anesthesia
• Regional anesthesia (spinal/epidural/peripheral-nerve-blocks)
• Ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia
• Advanced airway management
• Intraoperative hemodynamic monitoring
• ACLS certification
  

Preferred

• Experience with ERAS (enhanced recovery after surgery) pathways
• Familiarity with anesthesia information management systems (AIMS)
• Experience supporting high-volume laparoscopic/general surgery lists
