We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Coder with a
minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding, specifically focused on
anesthesia services. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of CPT,
ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems, and be familiar with compliance and
documentation guidelines related to anesthesia billing.
Review and analyze anesthesia medical records and operative reports to
assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and ASA codes.
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and
insurance guidelines.
Stay updated with current coding regulations, payer policies, and
anesthesia-specific coding changes.
Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and coding software efficiently to
ensure timely billing.
Perform audits and quality checks to maintain a high standard of coding
accuracy and reduce claim denials.
Support training or mentoring of junior coders as needed.
Minimum 3 years of experience in anesthesia coding.
Certification required: CPC, COC, CIC, or CRC (AAPC) or CCS-P/CCS
(AHIMA).
Strong understanding of ASA coding guidelines and anesthesia modifiers.
Experience with EMR and medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner,
Athena, etc.).
Strong communication skills to interact with providers and support
teams.
