Job Description

Core Accounting Concepts

Strong understanding of debits/credits, trial balances, reconciliations, and journal entries
Awareness of how financial transactions flow into trial balances and reports
Familiarity with transaction types such as buy, sell, dividends, accrued interest, etc

Guidance &Frameworks

Knowledge of accounting frameworks (GAAP, IFRS) and their impact on reporting requirements
Ability to identify when accounting guidance affects system behavior or reporting

System &Data Flow Awareness

Understanding of data flow across financial systems from security master, trade transactions, to ledger posting
Ability to connect upstream system events to downstream accounting outputs (eg, trade bookings expected debit/credit postings)

Candidate Profile

Experience
: 5+ years in product ownership, business analysis, or accounting/finance-focused roles within financial services
Domain Skills
: Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and investment products
Technical/Analytical
: Ability to document requirements clearly, validate data flows, and perform reconciliation checks
Collaboration
: Proven experience liaising between business stakeholders and technology teams in Agile environments
Tools
: Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar backlog/requirements management tools
Education
: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field Professional certifications (CPA, CFA, CA, or equivalent) preferred
