About The Job : The IT DMC Development & Delivery Team is looking for a talented full stack web engineer to enhance our development capabilities. The team is responsible for the development, integration, maintenance, support, and delivery of productivity applications that facilitate Red Hatters in their everyday work. Our custom applications run primarily in Openshift and are written with Java (Spring Boot 2) backends and Javascript UIs (Angular, Typescript, jQuery). We also make use of Python and Bash for scripting. The role will involve a variety of projects and you must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong prioritization and time management skills are required. What will you do? We’re looking for a passionate Frontend Developer with strong skills in React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript to help us build elegant, performant, and scalable web applications. You’ll collaborate closely with our designers, backend engineers, and product stakeholders to bring user-centric experiences to life. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on clean UI, well-structured code, and modern JavaScript frameworks. What You’ll Do Build reusable, high-quality frontend components using React and Next.js Translate Figma or design mockups into pixel-perfect, responsive UIs Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features Integrate REST APIs and handle frontend data flows with Redux, Axios, etc. Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and accessibility Troubleshoot and debug across browsers and devices Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation Stay current with modern frontend trends and best practices What We’re Looking For 2+ years of hands-on experience with: React.js and Next.js TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+) Redux (or equivalent state management) HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors like SASS or LESS REST APIs using Axios, AJAX, or fetch Solid understanding of frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.) Experience with performance tuning, lazy loading, and code-splitting Familiarity with Node.js (basic usage, tooling, SSR) Good communication and teamwork skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Nice to Have (Bonus Points) Experience with PWA or offline-first applications Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Exposure to design systems or component libraries (e.g., Chakra UI, MUI) Understanding of SSR/ISR in Next.js If you love turning design into code and building beautiful, fast, and user-friendly web interfaces, we’d love to hear from you.
