AGM-Environment

Position Summary

The AGM Environment is responsible for ensuring full environmental compliance across existing operations, new projects, and brownfield expansions. The role involves implementing environmental management systems, conducting audits, managing statutory reporting, and fostering environmental awareness within the organization and surrounding communities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Environmental Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the site.

• Provide environmental oversight for new and brownfield projects, ensuring adherence to statutory conditions and permits.

• Prepare and submit statutory environmental reports and documentation to regulatory authorities within stipulated timelines.

2. Environmental Monitoring & Analysis

• Oversee routine environmental monitoring, testing, and data analysis related to air, water, effluents, noise, and waste.

• Review monitoring results and initiate corrective and preventive actions to maintain compliance.

• Coordinate with laboratories and agencies for sampling, testing, and reporting.

3. Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

• Implement and maintain ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System requirements.

• Conduct internal EMS audits and ensure closure of non-conformities.

• Maintain environmental documentation, SOPs, manuals, and compliance records as per ISO standards.

4. Audits, Inspections & KPIs

• Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits across the site.

• Track and drive key environmental KPIs, including waste reduction, resource conservation, and emission control.

• Develop action plans for continuous improvement and monitor their implementation.

5. Waste Management

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with relevant waste management rules.

• Ensure safe storage, transportation, and disposal of waste materials through authorized vendors.

• Maintain waste inventory, manifests, and related statutory records.

6. Awareness & Community Engagement

• Increase environmental awareness among employees through training, workshops, toolbox talks, and campaigns.

• Organize environmental events such as World Environment Day, World Water Day, and Clean Air Day.

• Engage with local communities to promote environmental sustainability initiatives.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with internal teams, consultants, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless compliance.

• Support project teams by providing environmental inputs during planning, execution, and commissioning phases.

• Participate in environmental risk assessments and management review meetings .
