Job Description

Job Title- AGM / DGM - Materials

Department: Contracts & Procurement

Location: Kakinada

Job Purpose: To take care of the complete spectrum of plant materials function that includes procurement and stores management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy, Planning, SOP and Guidelines and Vendor Management at Site

  1. Techno-commercial Strategy, Planning and Roadmap
  2. Techno-Commercial Strategic Initiatives
  3. Techno-Commercial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Guidelines/ Policies Formulation
  4. Technology & Automation Framework Design

  • Core Procurement Activities

  1. Contract Management
  2. Strategic Sourcing for CapEx, OpEx, Bulk material & Services
  3. Contract Preparation and Order Placement

  • Associated Procurement Activities

  1. Post Order Management
  2. Quality Assurance

  • Supplier Management

  1. Supplier/ Vendor Performance Management
  2. Supplier Engagement

  • Cost of Budget Control

  • Inventory & Store Management

  1. Store Management
  2. Routine Inventory Control and Management
  3. Liquidation & Disposal (scrap or write-off) of NMI & Surplus inventory

  • Governance

  1. Governance Framework & Compliance
  2. Audit Management and Action Planning

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Chemical)
  • PGDBM / Master's degree preferred in business administration, supply chain management, operations, finance or a related area

Experience

  • More than 20 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement with minimum 3 year experience in a similar role of leading Procurement function in a large/ mid-sized Organization
  • Exposure to end-to-end procurement processes including: category management negotiations, methodologies for measuring the performance of procurement function, contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, eProcurement systems (SAP, Ariba, etc.) and supplier relationship management.
  • Exposure to business partnering and strategy development beyond tactical purchasing.
  • Exposure to business specific knowledge, systems and laws as applicable.
  • Exposure to bidding and estimation activities.
  • Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders (Internal and External) and conducting negotiations with large and mid- scale vendors.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risks
