AGM (Assistant General Manager), FMCG Category Position Overview: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) for the FMCG Category will be responsible for driving category growth, managing product portfolios, leading marketing and sales strategies, and ensuring profitability. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and deep knowledge of the FMCG sector. Key Responsibilities: Category Management Strategy: Develop and execute category growth strategies in alignment with business objectives. Analyze market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities to identify opportunities. Define product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. Optimize product mix and category performance based on data insights. Sales Revenue Management: Drive revenue and profitability through effective category management. Collaborate with sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies. Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions when necessary. Establish strong relationships with key retail and distribution partners. Marketing Brand Development: Work with marketing teams to develop and implement category-specific campaigns. Oversee ATL BTL marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility. Ensure strong positioning and differentiation of the product portfolio. Supply Chain Vendor Management: Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and contracts for optimal cost efficiency. Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of products. Optimize inventory levels to balance demand and supply effectively. Team Leadership Stakeholder Management: Lead and mentor a team of category managers and executives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and RD. Present business performance insights and category plans to senior leadership. Key Qualifications Skills: Bachelor s/Master s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in FMCG category management, sales, or marketing. Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and market analysis tools. Experience in e-commerce, retail, and modern trade channels is a plus. KPIs (Key Performance Indicators): Category revenue growth and profitability. Market share improvement. New product success rates. Supplier performance and cost optimization. Effectiveness of marketing and promotional campaigns.
