Job Summary

We are seeking early-career aeronautical design engineers with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in CAD, FEA/CFD, and prototype validation. In this role you will own sub-system designs for fixed-wing and rotary UAV platforms, working closely with senior engineers to translate performance requirements into manufacturable components and assemblies. The position offers exposure to the full product lifecycle—from concept sketches, digital simulation, and rapid prototyping through flight testing and iterative optimisation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Concept & Detailed Design

  • Develop 3D models and production drawings in SolidWorks / CATIA / AutoCAD.
  • Prepare design-for-manufacture (DFM) documentation, BOMs, and tolerance stacks.
  1. Structural & Aerodynamic Analysis

  • Run linear/non-linear FEA (ANSYS, SimScale) for stress, vibration, and fatigue.
  • Perform preliminary CFD studies on lifting surfaces, ducts, and propulsion inlets.
  1. Prototype Build & Verification

  • Liaise with additive-manufacturing and CNC vendors to fabricate prototypes.
  • Execute bench and wind-tunnel tests; capture data and recommend design tweaks.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with avionics and power-systems teams to resolve packaging and weight issues.
  • Contribute to design reviews, DFMEA sessions, and regulatory compliance checks (DGCA UAS, MIL-STD where applicable).
  1. Continuous Improvement

  • Track emerging composite materials and lightweighting techniques.
  • Document lessons learned and integrate best practices into design standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 1–2 years’ experience in aerospace, UAV, automotive, or related mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD suite (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of FEA/CFD tools and core aero-mechanical principles (aerodynamics, structures, thermofluids).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods—machining, composites lay-up, additive manufacturing—and GD&T.
  • Strong analytical mindset, clear technical communication, and ownership of deliverables.
Preferred Assets
  • Internship or project exposure to UAV airframe design, propulsion integration, or flight-controls hardware.
  • Programming skills (Python, MATLAB) for automation of simulation workflows and data post-processing.
  • Experience with sustainable propulsion concepts (electric / hybrid) or advanced materials (thermoplastic composites, metal-matrix materials).
