Job Summary

VJIM is seeking a proactive and student-focused Admissions Counsellor to manage walk-in enquiries and support the admissions process end-to-end. The role involves counselling prospective students, assisting the tele-calling team in lead conversion, conducting admission interviews, issuing offer letters, and managing admissions-related documentation and financial coordination. The ideal candidate should have strong counselling, coordination, and administrative skills with a good understanding of management education.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Student Counselling & Lead Conversion

  • Counsel walk-in students and parents regarding VJIM's PGDM programs, specialisations, curriculum, pedagogy, and campus facilities
  • Address queries related to program specialisations, placements, internships, faculty, fees, and career outcomes
  • Support tele callers by interacting with warm leads and helping convert them into completed applications
  • Provide accurate and consistent information aligned with the institute's policies

Admissions Process Management

  • Schedule, coordinate, and conduct admission interviews (GD/PI, where applicable)
  • Evaluate applicants as per the admission criteria and recommend suitable candidates
  • Prepare and issue offer letters to selected candidates in coordination with the admissions committee
  • Guide applicants through acceptance, fee payment, and enrolment formalities

Documentation & Administrative Support

  • Manage admission files and student records, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documents
  • Verify, file, and maintain student documents as per AICTE and institutional norms
  • Coordinate preparation of payment notes, fee records, and admission-related approvals
  • Assist in preparing monthly admissions budgets, reports, and MIS

Coordination & Reporting

  • Work closely with tele callers, faculty interview panels, finance, and accounts teams
  • Maintain admissions dashboards, application status reports, and conversion metrics
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and compliance with AICTE guidelines

Experience & Qualifications

  • Graduate/Postgraduate (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience

    in admissions counselling, education sales, or academic administration
  • Experience in B-School or higher education admissions will be an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and counselling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Sound understanding of management education and placement processes
  • Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and meet admission targets
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Technical & Tool Proficiency

  • Proficient in

    MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Familiarity with CRM/admissions management systems preferred
