Accounts Officer

You are responsible for maintaining financial records and analyzing financial data and accounts. You will also manage other operational and financial tasks and duties related to the accounts department. Key responsibilities: - Maintain financial records: Keep financial records accurate and complete, including the general ledger, and prepare monthly journal entries. - Perform reconciliations and prepare reports: Reconcile accounts, prepare financial statements and reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting. - Ensure compliance: Adhere to financial regulations and company policies, and support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. - Analyze financial data: Examine financial data to identify discrepancies or potential improvements and communicate findings to management. - Handle inquiries: Respond to account-related inquiries from both internal departments and external clients. Qualifications and skills: - Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is often preferred. - Technical skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, SunSystems) and productivity tools like Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is crucial. - Soft skills: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication are essential for the role. - Other requirements: The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is often required.
