Job Description

Accounts Executive - Retail (Ajanta Footcare India Pvt. Ltd.)

Position Overview

1. Accounting & Finance

  • Maintain daily accounting entries in Tally/ERP, including sales, purchase, expenses, journal entries, and bank transactions.
  • Reconcile customer and vendor accounts, stock reports, and petty cash.
  • Handle daily cash/credit card/UPI sales reconciliation from stores.
  • Perform bank reconciliation statements (BRS) on a regular basis.

2. GST Compliance

  • Prepare and validate monthly GST workings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B).
  • Ensure accurate input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation.
  • Handle GST-related queries, notices, and documentation.
  • Maintain proper classification (HSN/SAC) and tax rates for retail items.

3. TDS Compliance

  • Compute and deduct appropriate TDS on vendor payments as per Income Tax Act.
  • Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns.
  • Issue TDS certificates to vendors (Form 16A).
  • Track and maintain TDS challans and documentation.

4. Store Profitability Analysis

  • Prepare monthly store-wise P&L statements.
  • Monitor gross margin, shrinkage, payroll ratio, rental ratio, and operational expenses.
  • Analyze variance between budget vs actual store performance.
  • Identify loss-making areas and provide insights to improve profitability.

5. MIS Reporting

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports including:
    • Sales performance reports
    • Inventory & ageing reports
    • Cash flow & outstanding reports
    • Expense trackers
  • Present summarized and actionable insights to management

6. Support to Audit

  • Assist in statutory, internal, and stock audits.
  • Prepare schedules, check travel vouchers, and documentation as required.

Educational Requirements

  • B.Com / M.Com

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with

    GST, TDS, and Retail accounting

    (HO/Store Level transaction)

  • Working knowledge of

    Tally, ERP systems, MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), MIS tools

    .

  • Strong understanding of

    retail store operations and profitability metrics

    .

  • Payment of

    store expenses - Electricity, Tours & Travel expenses

    of ASM and reimbursement.

  • Store level

    P/L (Profit/Loss)

    knowledge

Experience Required

  • 3-4 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in

    Retail Industry
