Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in India. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the jewelry or mining industry, a strong understanding of Indian accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and the ability to manage day-to-day financial operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain books of accounts in accordance with Indian accounting standards (Ind AS).
• Prepare and file monthly GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations and ensure accurate ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and relevant Indian tax laws.
• Handle inventory accounting and costing, especially for precious metals and stones (preferred for jewelry/mining background).
• Implement internal financial controls and ensure adherence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field (B.Com, M.Com, or equivalent).
• CA-Inter / Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant / Fully Qualified CA is a plus.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the jewelry or mining industry.
• Strong understanding of Indian financial regulations, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
• Experience with Tally ERP or other accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in handling gold or mineral inventory accounting.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures, SEZ norms, and customs duties (especially useful in the jewelry/mining sector).
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
