Accountant

As an Accountant at Dr. D. Y. Patil Public School in Vita, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions, records, and reporting of the school. Your attention to detail and understanding of accounting principles will be essential in maintaining accurate financial records. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to provide financial information and support decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including bank reconciliations, petty cash management, and expense reports. - Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. - Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and financial reports. - Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary. - Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide financial information and support for decision-making. - Prepare documentation and assist with audits as required. - Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role. - Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. - Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data management. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. - Experience in an educational institution or nonprofit organization is preferred but not required.
