Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Academic Counsellor to join our team and drive student engagement and enrolment. As an Academic Counsellor, you will play a critical role in helping students make informed decisions about their education, guiding them through our offerings, and building strong relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and Lead Generation: Identify and research potential students, clients, and target markets. Generate leads through various channels, including online research, networking, and outreach. Collaborate with local schools and communities.
- Student Counselling: Engage with prospective students in-person and over the phone to understand their academic background, career objectives, and learning preferences.
- Enrolment Assistance: Assist students with the enrolment process, including course selection, fee payment, and registration. Follow up with potential leads and encourage them to join our programs.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and other stakeholders. Understand individual needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Provide exceptional service to ensure satisfaction.
- Sales and Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies to achieve enrollment and revenue targets. Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations to students and parents. Negotiate and close enrollments effectively.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, student preferences, and competitor activities. Analyze data to identify new business opportunities.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student interactions, sales activities, and follow-ups. Prepare regular reports and forecasts for management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, academic, and operations teams to achieve collective goals. Provide feedback to the product and academic teams based on student insights.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience as an Academic Counsellor or in the EdTech/education industry
- Strong understanding of education products and services
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools
- Self-motivated with a customer-first mindset and a result-oriented approach
