Academic Counsellor

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and student-focused Academic Counsellor to join our team.  The Admission Counselor will be responsible for guiding prospective students through the  enrollment process, understanding their career goals, and recommending suitable courses offered  by IT Shaala. You will act as the first point of contact for inquiries and play a critical role in converting  leads into enrollments

Role & responsibilities

Lead Conversion: Follow up on leads generated through various marketing channels  (online/offline) and convert them into admissions. 

• Student Counseling: Understand the academic and career objectives of prospective  students and suggest appropriate IT Shaala courses.  
• Product Knowledge: Maintain indepth knowledge of all courses, certifications, batches, and  training schedules offered by IT Shaala. 
• CRM Management: Update and manage leads and student interactions using CRM tools.

 Admissions Process: Guide students through the entire admission process including  documentation, fee payment, and onboarding. 

• Follow-Up: Conduct timely follow-ups with prospects via phone, email, and WhatsApp. 
• Reporting: Maintain and report daily, weekly, and monthly metrics on leads, conversions,  and feedback to the admissions team. 
• Collaboration: Coordinate with trainers, operations, and marketing teams for smooth  functioning of admissions and onboarding processes. 
• Customer Service: Address queries, complaints, or concerns from prospective and enrolled  students in a timely and professional manner.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in any discipline (preferably in Business, Education, or IT).
  
• 0.6–3 years of experience in counseling, inside sales, or academic advising (preferably in the education/ed-tech sector).
  
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  
• Goal-oriented with a strong track record in achieving sales or enrollment targets.
  
• Tech-savvy with working knowledge of MS Office, CRM software, and digital communication tools.
  
• Ability to listen effectively, build trust with potential learners, and approach situations with patience and empathy.
  
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
