Unlike other social media agencies or YouTube businesses, Dragonfruit refuses to celebrate a “creator economy” that trades viewers’ time and attention for rapid-fire dopamine entertainment.

The Role:

As a Video Editor at Dragonfruit, you’ll be the creative engine behind some of the internet’s most impactful YouTube channels — crafting videos that not only entertain but inspire, educate, and engage millions of viewers worldwide.

You’ll work closely with Creative Directors and Producers to bring stories to life through compelling pacing, thoughtful structure, and strong visual rhythm. You’re someone who thrives on pushing creative boundaries while still delivering content that performs on platform — combining storytelling instincts with data-informed decision-making to create videos that both resonate and retain audiences.

From long-form podcasts and cinematic interviews to viral short-form and talking-head videos, you’ll be editing across diverse formats — ensuring each cut aligns with the channel’s voice, values, and mission. This role is perfect for editors who want to move beyond just “making cool cuts” and instead use their craft to help shape meaningful conversations online.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional editing experience, ideally for YouTube or other social-first video platforms.
• Highly skilled and proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to craft viral, high-performing content across both long-form and short-form formats. Bonus points if experienced in other formats such as podcasts, talking heads, etc.
• Understanding of YouTube storytelling mechanics — pacing, retention curves, hooks, titles, and thumbnails.
• A strong sense of story and rhythm, with the ability to turn raw footage into an emotionally resonant narrative.
• Deadline-driven, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative and receptive to feedback, with a passion for continuous improvement and experimentation.
• Extremely deadline-oriented with an understanding of the importance of project timelines.
• Tech-savvy with quick learning abilities for new software.
• Bonus: experience in sound design, color grading, or motion graphics.
