We are seeking a skilled and creative YouTube Editor (experience in Podcast editing is a plus) who is passionate about crafting captivating and high-retention narratives for long-form video content. Your role will involve collaborating closely with our production team to edit YouTube videos with a strong focus on storytelling and audience engagement. If you have a natural instinct for holding attention, creating momentum, and enhancing storytelling through editing, we encourage you to apply for this role. Responsibilities: - Edit long-form YouTube videos, emphasizing storytelling, pacing, and audience retention. - Enhance viewer engagement by crafting compelling hooks in the first 5 seconds, engaging openings in the first 30 seconds, and maintaining seamless pacing. - Structure content for narrative flow to keep viewers engaged and returning for more. - Utilize sound design techniques such as music, sound effects, and audio mixing to evoke emotion and enhance immersion. - Apply YouTube retention strategies by making editing decisions based on Average View Duration (AVD) and viewer psychology. - Collaborate with the YouTube Producer & Videographer to ensure alignment with the vision and strategic goals of each video. - Incorporate motion graphics (text callouts, transitions) to maintain visual dynamism. - Stay updated on YouTube trends and contribute fresh ideas to the editing process. Requirements: - Strong storytelling skills with a keen sense of pacing and retention tactics. - Proficiency in Adobe Premiere or Davinci (knowledge of After Effects & Photoshop is a plus). - Minimum 2 years of experience in editing content for YouTube. - Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback efficiently. - Creative problem-solving skills and a continuous drive to enhance video content. - Interest in AI tools and emerging editing technologies is advantageous.
