Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Oversee daily yard operations including receiving, stacking, storing, and dispatching materials.
Managing the manpower and improve efficiency
Inspection of the incoming material for damages.
Allocate manpower and coordinate with logistics, warehouse.
Arranging transporters for dispatch/collection of material
Maintain accurate inventory records and verify all yard-related documentation.
Lead and mentor yard staff; conduct daily briefs and ensure safe working practices.
Ensure safety compliance, PPE usage, and conduct regular yard inspections.
Hiring and Managing equipment(forklifts, cranes, loaders) and ensure timely maintenance.
Keep the yard clean, organized, and operationally efficient.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience in yard/warehouse/logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of material handling, inventory management, and safety norms.
Knowledge in handling of Steel especially beams and plates
Knowledge of cutting and welding will be added advantage.

communication skills - English , Tamil ,Hindi preferred( English & Tamil Mandatory

Additional information :

The Operations Supervisor will also act as Logistics mainly for local transport.

Knowledge in handling import and export is added advantage.
Knowledge in handling steel especially beams.
Transport arrangements
Inspection of incoming material and raise damage report.
Ensure the repair (involves welding, grinding, cutting, cleaning) material is carried in time and ready for dispatch. (sort of production/repair role).
Routine inspection of material at customer sites.
