Job Description

Job Summary:

The CT & X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray and computed tomography (CT) equipment. The technician ensures high-quality images for accurate diagnosis while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:1. Imaging Procedures

  • Perform routine and specialized X-ray and CT scan procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Position patients correctly and ensure proper alignment for optimal imaging results.
  • Operate radiographic and CT equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Adjust imaging parameters to ensure diagnostic quality images.
  • Evaluate images for clarity, contrast, and detail before submitting them to the radiologist for interpretation.

2. Patient Care

  • Greet and identify patients, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Protect patients, self, and staff from radiation exposure using proper shielding and safety protocols.
  • Monitor patients during imaging for signs of discomfort or distress.
  • Administer contrast media for CT procedures, under physician supervision and following safety guidelines.

3. Equipment & Quality Control

  • Inspect, calibrate, and maintain radiographic and CT equipment regularly.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department promptly.
  • Maintain accurate imaging records and adhere to data privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles for radiation safety.

4. Documentation & Communication

  • Enter patient and exam data into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare staff to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis.
  • Maintain logs, records, and reports as required by hospital policy and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • Certification:
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (R).
  • CT certification (ARRT (CT)) or eligibility to obtain within specified time frame.
  • State licensure (if applicable).
  • Experience:
  • 1–3 years of experience in radiography; CT experience preferred.
  • New graduates may be considered with appropriate training.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in CT and radiographic imaging techniques.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
