About the Job: We are seeking a skilled WordPress Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the WordPress core architecture, theme and plugin development, performance optimization, and security best practices. You will be responsible for developing custom solutions, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining high-quality websites that align with client goals and technical standards. Key Responsibilities: Possess in-depth knowledge of WordPress core architecture, theme and plugin development, performance optimisationDevelop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch. Work with the WordPress core, hooks, filters, and APIs. Optimise websites for performance, scalability, and SEO. Troubleshoot and fix bugs, compatibility issues, and website errors. Implement responsive and accessible front-end designs using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality products. Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress updates, coding standards, and industry trends. Ensure websites are secure and follow best practices in terms of coding and security. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a WordPress developer (3+ years preferred). Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, custom post types, taxonomies, and WP-CLI. Experience developing custom plugins and themes without using page builders. Familiarity with REST APIs and third-party integrations. Knowledge of Git version control and deployment processes. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Understanding of website performance optimization and security best practices. Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory): Experience with headless WordPress and front-end frameworks like React or Vue. Familiarity with Laravel, WooCommerce, or other CMS platforms. Contributions to WordPress.org or involvement in the WordPress community.
