Wanted Quality Manager For Our Motor Division @ Coimbatore

Role & responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance & Control

• Establish, implement, and monitor quality standards for motor components and assemblies.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Maintain documentation such as Control Plans, PFMEA, SOPs, and Inspection Reports.

2. Supplier Quality Management

• Evaluate, develop, and audit suppliers for critical motor components (stators, rotors, windings, castings, etc.).
• Handle supplier non-conformance (SCAR), corrective actions, and performance tracking.
• Develop vendors to meet quality and delivery requirements.

3. Customer Quality & Complaint Handling

• Lead customer complaint analysis using 8D, Why-Why, and RCA methods.
• Coordinate with customers for audits, approvals, and quality meetings.
• Ensure on-time closure of customer concerns with effective countermeasures.

4. Process Improvement

• Lead initiatives to reduce defects, rework, scrap, and warranty returns.
• Implement Lean, Kaizen, and Poka-Yoke methods to improve process capability.
• Monitor and improve CTQs (Critical to Quality) and process KPIs.

5. Team Leadership

• Lead a team of Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors.
• Provide training on quality tools, standards, and best practices.
• Foster a culture of zero-defect mindset.

6. Testing & Validation

• Oversee motor functional tests, endurance tests, and compliance testing.
• Ensure calibration of measuring instruments and equipment.
• Validate new product samples (PPAP/APQP).

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of motor manufacturing processes (winding, assembly, testing).
• Expertise in quality tools: 7QC, RCA, FMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, 8D.
• Experience in ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (if applicable).
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
• Customer-handling skills.
• Leadership and team management.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
• 712 years of experience in Quality function in Motor / Electrical Equipment Manufacturing.
• Experience in handling customer audits and quality management systems.

Preferred Certifications

• Internal Auditor – ISO 9001 / IATF
