Role Description

This full-time on-site role is located in Chennai. The VTMS Operator - Second Mate Officer will be responsible for monitoring and managing vessel traffic using the Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS). Day-to-day tasks include vessel tracking, handling communication with vessels, ensuring maritime safety, and coordinating with port authorities. In addition, the role involves responding to emergencies and maintaining accurate records of all vessel movements and incidents.

Qualifications

• Experience with Vessel Traffic Management Systems and knowledge of maritime navigation
• Strong communication and coordination skills to manage vessel traffic effectively
• Proficiency in handling emergencies and ensuring maritime safety
• Ability to work on-site in Chennai
• Relevant certifications and qualifications as a Second Mate Officer or similar role
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with port operations and maritime regulatory requirements
