The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team at American Express is seeking a Vice President of Issue Management to lead a team focused on embedding effective operational risk management in the daily operations of the organization. This role involves collaborating with various partners across business units, functional areas, and geographies. The VP, ORM Issue Management will be responsible for defining and maintaining the issue management framework across the enterprise, ensuring consistency and thoroughness. They will provide subject matter expertise for educating stakeholders on issues management, develop reporting processes, oversee root cause analysis, and validate issue resolution efforts. Prioritizing risks to focus on impactful issues and maintaining a proactive risk management culture are key responsibilities of this role. Qualifications for this role include experience in operational risk management, knowledge of operational risk reporting and regulatory requirements, strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. You should also have a track record of managing diverse teams and establishing robust decision-making processes aligned with policies and standards.
