Vocational Unit Special Educator

Saksham has been committed to the training and rehabilitation of visually impaired children and children with visual impairment along with additional disabilities since 2003. We strive to empower children by nurturing academic, social, creative, and vocational abilities to promote independence and holistic development.

Position: Vocational Unit Special EducatorRoles and Responsibilities:

· Teach and train students in creative, pre-vocational, and vocational skills such as craftwork, tailoring, beadwork, paper-based products, basic kitchen skills, and other hands-on activities.

· Assess each child’s capabilities and challenges to design individualized vocational learning plans.

· Conduct structured sessions that promote hand–eye coordination, fine motor skills, functional independence, and creativity.

· Support students in developing life skills and practical competencies essential for everyday functioning and employability.

· Maintain detailed documentation, including session logs, progress records, and attendance.

· Collaborate with therapists and educators to create a multi-disciplinary, supportive learning environment.

· Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers about progress, challenges, and strategies for reinforcement at home.

· Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning vocational activities and exhibitions.

· Need based student home visits

· Should be willing to take on additional responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Vocational Training, or a related field.

· Experience in teaching creative and vocational skills preferred; enthusiastic freshers with strong practical exposure may also apply.

· Strong skills in craft-based and hands-on activities.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Patience, empathy, and a child-centric approach.

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

· RCI certification or equivalent state-recognized certification is desirable.

Remuneration: ₹20,000 per month
