To drive cost optimisation and localisation initiatives in the purchasing function, ensuring maximum value delivery, supplier competitiveness, and alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals for smart car programmes.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
10+ years’ experience in automotive purchasing, value engineering, or localisation.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Experience in cost analysis, benchmarking, and project management.
Knowledge of local supplier base and regulatory requirements.
6. Performance INDICATORS (INDICATIVE):
Achievement of annual cost reduction targets.
Localisation percentage increase (year-on-year).
Number of successful localisation projects delivered.
Supplier performance improvement (cost, quality, delivery).
Timely reporting and documentation of value optimisation initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Lead value optimisation projects for purchased parts and assemblies.
Drive Purchase Performance - Commercial and RM and report to management
Develop and implement localisation strategies to increase local content and reduce costs.
Collaborate with engineering, supplier quality, and programme teams to identify and realise cost-saving opportunities.
Conduct supplier negotiations and benchmarking to achieve best-in-class pricing.
Track and report value optimisation progress and localisation targets
Support supplier selection and onboarding for localisation projects.
