Job Description

A **Video Editor** at a news media company plays a critical role in shaping how stories are seen and understood by the audience. This position requires speed, precision, creativity, and a strong sense of storytelling aligned with journalistic integrity. #### **Key Responsibilities:** * Edit daily news videos, interviews, and on-ground coverage content for fast-paced publishing. * Trim raw footage, add subtitles, background scores, transitions, headlines, and logos to enhance storytelling. * Maintain quick turnaround times for breaking news, ensuring videos are timely and relevant. * Collaborate with journalists, field reporters, and producers to create engaging visual narratives. * Repurpose content for social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube Shorts, X, Facebook, etc.). * Ensure all output follows the brand’s visual identity, editorial standards, and copyright compliance. #### **Skills & Tools:** * Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. * Basic knowledge of motion graphics (After Effects is a plus). * Strong grasp of video formatting for different platforms. * Familiarity with news cycles and the urgency of timely publishing. * Eye for detail, storytelling, and clean visual presentation. #### **Qualities We Look For:** * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. * Strong sense of ethics, accuracy, and editorial judgment. * Creative mindset with a passion for digital journalism and visual media.
